There's No Place Like Home

Strangely enough, even though you all know all kinds of trivia about me, from my aversion to Gwyneth to my love of figure skating, somehow it has never come up that the Mint Mogul dream was born in Buffalo, a town that has its share of embittering moments (wide right/no goal, anyone?) Had I grown up 90 miles across the border in the fine nation of Canada, things could have turned out differently, and probably with more optimism and a warm, maple aroma.

So...as some of you know, I have been working to place Embittermints in a number of Buffalo retail establishments, and I have some good news to report. Just a quick update on the goings-on here at the Mint HQ. First, there are a number of new retail outlets that are giving Embittermints a whirl, so please take a whirl by them and buy, buy, buy! Embittermints are also going to be featured at couple of benefits over the summer, the first of which is for the New York Legal Assistance Group tomorrw night. If you received Embittermints at the NYLAG benefit, please do spread the spite to your friends, family, and, if applicable, Oprah.

In other news, I have watched a couple of episodes of Season 1 of Beverly Hills 90210 on SoapNet. A few thoughts -- someone must have really hated Shannen Doherty, because, even by early 90s standards, her clothes were really fugly and stand out from everyone else's due to their fuglitude, which is saying a lot when everyone is wearing their pants up at their armpits. Except Brandon, who looks a lot better than he has a right to. Also, whoever it is that let James "Jim Walsh" Eckhouse play one on one with Brandon in a muscle tee with his back hair raging is a sick, sick person. Ew. Finally, Brenda was right more often than I remember -- they were all out to get her, even Andrea Zuckerman.

I was fortunate enough to visit the Fancy Food Show last week, where I met the fine folks at Cody Kramer, our intrepid manufacturers, where we discussed distribution, new candy products, and enjoyed a few samples of delicious toffee.
